Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said that "Guru" was more important than Google.
Addressing the students, after inaugurating a convention centre at Adi Kavi Nannaya University here, Naidu said: "Every person should try to repay the "runam" of parents, teachers and birthplace and "Guru" is more important than Google."
Naidu also asked the students to work hard to achieve their goals and follow their dreams to reach the pinnacle to make the state a knowledge hub.
"India now has more number of young people and it is in their hands to take the nation forward," Naidu said.
During his address, Governor ESL Narasimhan exhorted the students to donate blood and visit government hospitals to serve the poor once in a month.
He also asked the students to take oath that they will not yield to corruption.
Besides the convention centre, Naidu also laid the foundation stone of a botanical garden.
Meanwhile, Narasimhan inaugurated an amenities center and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu laid foundation of a arts college building on the university premises.
