Gwyneth Paltrow's mother Blythe Danner has admitted that she doesn't understand her daughter's much-maligned "conscious uncoupling" from rocker Chris Martin.
The 71-year-old stumbled over her words as she tried to discuss the couple's March 2014 split at Sundance Film Festival, Us Magazine reported.
Danner began "People make fun of this, um, what do they call it? What is that thing that they've been doing? Separating, but being?" When reminded that the phrase was "conscious uncoupling," she argued it was just called "conscious."
Danner added that the very amicable former couple, who share kids Apple, 10, and Moses, 8, are so smart and both incredibly brilliant.
She added that they're making it work, they're great friends and the kids are in wonderful shape and so they have to take her hat off to both of them.
