Hadlee backs current Kiwi bowling stocks to be 'genuine strength' at 2015 World Cup

New Zealand pace bowling legend Sir Richard Hadlee has said that he believes the country's current bowling stocks are as good as they have ever produced and has a strong chance to be a genuine strength at next year's World Cup.

The national Test side had just beaten India by 40 runs on the back of a strong bowling performance, especially by seamers Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Neil Wagner

According to Stuff.co.nz, Hadlee is excited about the bowling stocks, the options coach Mike Hesson has at his disposal and the depth around the country and predicted that the fast bowlers could play a major role in New Zealand going deep in the 14-team 50-over tournament beginning next February.

Terming the depth and competition for places in the one-day side as a real boost, Hadlee said that New Zealand has the pace of Adam Milne, the experience and cleverness of Kyle Mills, the leadership of Tim Southee and an aggressive left-armer with a tremendous wicket-taking ability in the form of Mitchell McClenaghan.

Hadlee also said that even if Trent Boult, whom he branded as one of their finest left-armers in recent years, cannot make it to the one-day side, the team can handle the competition as they have everything necessary in their arsenal.

Hadlee further said that any number could force their way into the side by the time the World Cup begins on February 14 next year, adding that the team has got seam, speed, swing and one or two bowlers with real presence that take it to an opposition.
