While addressing a city rally in Gaza on Thursday, a senior Hamas commander has said that the war with Israel will continue until the economic blockade on Gaza is lifted.
Mushir al-Masri warned that Hamas has its guns trained on Tel Aviv and its militants would never give up their arms unless the blockade imposed on Gaza by Israel in 2007 is lifted, reported News 24.
The statement comes at a time when Cairo is struggling to extend the 72-hour ceasefire in Gaza that expires on Friday and broker a long-standing truce between Hamas and Israel.
An Egyptian official has conceded that the militants have refused to compromise.
Meanwhile, Israel has said that Hamas militants must disarm themselves first but Hamas has refuted the demand.
