Mercedes racer Lewis Hamilton hopes that this weekend's Monte Carlo might be an upcoming opportunity for him to win despite Mercedes' problem-causing tyres.
Mercedes team has taken last three pole positions but Hamilton and team-mate Nico Rosberg were not able to continue at the front due to high tyre wear problems, The Mirror reports.
Hamilton acknowledged that there are chances of winning the Monte Carlo race but said that Ferrari, Lotus and Red Bull are massively competitive as well and it is not certain as to what the other teams are capable of.
The report said that Hamilton was furious with tyre makers Pirelli as despite having a good car he was unable to make a good mark last weekend.
According to the report, Hamilton still remembers the worst victory at Barcelona as he was lapped and plummeted through the field from first to 12th.
Hamilton admitted his fear of further embarrassment in Monte Carlo by saying that he hopes something is done about the poor functioning of Mercedes tyres as the situation cannot worsen any further for the racing team.
The racer also sported a glitzy new helmet featuring caricatures of girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, his dog Roscoe and himself for Monaco Grand Prix which apparently was a lot brighter and attention-gripping than his gloomy demeanour.
