A poll of film fans has named Hannibal Lecter as the scariest horror film character of all time.
According to a poll of 1,000 Brit film fans, the cannibal serial killer from 1991 hit film 'The Silence Of The Lambs, played by Anthony Hopkins, has topped the list by beating 'Nightmare On Elm Street's Freddy Krueger, the Daily Star reported.
'Psycho' killer Norman Bates came third on the list, followed by 'The Shining's Jack Torrance, played by Jack Nicholson and Chucky completed the top five.
Characters from Saw, Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Dawn Of The Dead also featured, with Jaws' Great White shark securing the tenth position.
