Fazalur Rehman Khalil, founder of the outlawed Harkatul Mujahideen group and present leader of the Ansarul Umma, is planning to challenge US government's decision of including his name in the terrorist watch list.

According to the Dawn, Khalil has vowed to move the court to challenge what he termed as "allegations levelled against him by the US government".

Khalil along with Sheikh Mohammad Naeem and Umair Naeem were recently put on the US Department of Treasury's "Specially Designated Nationals List" for their alleged link to banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Khalil said that he would file a case in Pakistani courts, and if required, will file a case in an international court of law as well to prove that Washington had levelled baseless allegations against him.

He averred that there were no cases against him anywhere in the world and that one could not be declared a terrorist without evidence.
