Harris named Oz's Ashes man of the series

Australian bowler Ryan Harris was named as the Ashes man of the series for the away side, even as he left the Oval on Sunday with hamstring soreness.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, while the 33-year-old Queensland quick was named Australia's player of the series, England's Ian Bell was the overall winner, after an Ashes campaign in which Harris missed a match but took 24 wickets at an average of 19.58 to be second only to Graeme Swann on the overall wickets tally.

Harris had left the ground after getting Kevin Pietersen out on the final day of the last Ashes Test, the report said.

Meanwhile, Australian captain Michael Clarke said that the bowler would be fine and he deserved a break, adding that his statistics were as good as anyone else he has played with

Harris himself said that although the result did not go well for Australia, he was hoping for a better showing at their home series.
