Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan called for the vaccination of every child in the country.
Speaking at a press conference, Harsh Vardhan said, "We want to reach every mother, father and responsible citizen of the country. No child should be left without a vaccine. Around 30 per cent of the children of the country are being left without getting vaccinated. This is in spite of free distribution of the vaccines. This, I feel, is due to the lack of a proper distribution system and also due to lack of awareness."
He also thanked members of the film industry in supporting the initiative to help awareness about vaccination.
Harsh Vardhan further stated that there is no danger from the Ebola virus in the country. Reiterating that the transmission of the Ebola virus is not airborne, he said that people coming from Ebola-affected countries are being properly tracked.
