Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday inaugurated a pictorial exhibition 'Saal Ek Shuruaat Anek' to mark the completion of one year of the NDA government in Gangtok.
The week long exhibition has been organised by Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), which functions under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA government at the Centre has brought an end to policy paralysis and ensured scam free governance in the last one year.
Badal also stressed on the priority being given to the northeastern region under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule. She said that the Centre has allocated Rs 53, 000 crore for the development of
northeastern states in the Union Budget including scholarship schemes for the students.
She said that Centre proposes to set up six agricultural universities in the region and is planning to upgrade power transmission in northeastern states with the sanction of Rs 10, 000 crore.
Similar exhibitions would be held across the country to showcase the achievements of the government in the last one year.
