The Senior Executive Leadership Program-India (SELPI), by Harvard Business School (HBS) Executive Education is slated to begin August 2017 through a series of modules offered in Boston and Mumbai.
The program offers modules for senior executives that will help them enhance their leadership skills, prepare and design competitive strategies that deliver real value in global context, promote continuous innovation, and build accountable, high-performance organizations.
SELPI is intended for executives who are emerging as senior leaders in their industries with at least 15 to 20 years of work experience. Specifically, the program is for those who will be tasked with, and aspire to, leading their companies and are playing a key role in driving growth in India's businesses, both regionally and globally.
"Over the years, India has emerged as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. To seize growth opportunities in this promising economy and sustain success under shifting global business conditions, companies need executives who are exceptional leaders - confident decision-makers, skilled strategists, global thinkers, and effective change agents. The Senior Executive Leadership Program - India will help executives accelerate their leadership capacity and grow businesses in India and beyond," said Professor Frances Frei - UPS Foundation Professor of Service Management Senior Associate Dean for Executive Education.
"The unique modular structure of the program allows executives to be fully immersed in a learning environment that may be entirely new and challenging to them, but without having to leave their busy careers for an extended period of time," said Professor Krishna Palepu, Ross Graham Walker Professor of Business Administration and faculty chair of SELPI. He added, "With SELPI, key executives will acquire the critical capabilities needed to seize growth opportunities, overcome obstacles, create competitive advantage, and compete regionally and in a complex global economy."
The Senior Executive Leadership Program - India is divided into four in-class modules - two in Boston and two in Mumbai- that will include faculty presentations, case discussions, guest speakers, personal coaching, and skill-building exercises. Between modules, this allows participants to work on an individual strategy project, and sharpen one's leadership skills as it provides the advantage of availing interactive sessions using the cutting-edge HBX Live virtual classroom.
The program will incorporate proven insights from Harvard Business School's Comprehensive Leadership Programs (CLPs), the school's flagship portfolio of extended leadership development programs designed to provide a truly transformational experience for senior executives and entrepreneurs. It will combine this global content with a new, India-focused curriculum developed specifically for SELPI based on the intellectual capital developed by HBS faculty working in India over the last decade.
The entire program will be taught by full-time HBS faculty based in Boston. Executives participating in The Senior Executive Leadership Program - India will receive Harvard Business School alumni status upon completion of the program, gaining exclusive access to a vast global alumni network and an array of resources that facilitate lifelong learning, growth, and success.
As with other HBS Executive Education offerings, SELPI will rely on research from leading HBS faculty, discussions with industry peers and learnings from real-world case studies from successful global companies.
