The post in Humans of New York showed a young boy with his head in his hands, looking troubled, with the caption reading, "I'm homosexual and I'm afraid about what my future will be and that people won't like me," Us magazine reported.
The 67-year-old Former United States Secretary of State, who's pretty social-media savvy, immediately reached out and wrote on the Facebook post, "Prediction from a grown-up: Your future is going to be amazing. You will surprise yourself with what you're capable of and the incredible things you go on to do. Find the people who love and believe in you - there will be lots of them."
The Democratic presidential candidate's words of encouragement went viral, and brought even more attention to the unknown boy's story, which has gained 67,669 likes.
The Humans of New York account responded, "Thanks for this Ms. Clinton."
Clinton wasn't the only one with words of advice as popular talk show host Ellen DeGeneres also responded to the post writing, "Not only will people like you, they'll love you. I just heard of you and I love you already."
The post comes exactly one week after the Supreme Court's historic ruling in favour of same-sex marriage in all 50 states.
