Many Hindus took to the streets to protest against the desecration of six temple idols in Gurudashpur upazila in Natore, Bangladesh.

The agitated people also blocked the Natore-Gurudashpur road and demanded arrest of the miscreants behind the attack within 24 hours.

According to the Daily Star, eight masked miscreants entered the temple early morning today and desecrated six idols including idols of Ganesh, Durga and Saraswati, keeping the security men in confinement.

One of the security men, Rajib Uddin was later beaten up by the agitated Hindus in connection with the incident. He is presently undergoing treatment.

Many administrative officials including Deputy Commissioner Mushiur Rahman of Natore visited the site and assured the community of taking strict and immediate actions against the criminals.

Earlier, six idols were desecrated in a temple located in a village of the Satkhira Sadar upazila in Bangladesh.
