French President Francois Hollande has said that the values upheld by Charlie Hebdo will survive after the new edition of the French satirical magazine sold out in hours.

Hollande said, "Charlie Hebdo is alive and will live on," reported the BBC.

Millions of copies of the new edition are being printed because of the widespread demand.

It comes a week after three masked gunmen killed 12 people at the Paris headquarter of Charlie Hebdo.

The cover of the new editions features a caricature of Prophet Mohammed weeping while holding a sign that says, "I am Charlie." The caption reads, "All is forgiven.
