Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd (HMSI) launched its new 110cc bike, the Livo on Friday.
The bike will replace Honda CB Twister, which will no longer be manufactured. The bike has been priced at Rs 52,989 for the model with drum brakes and Rs 55,489 for the disc brake version. All prices are Ex-Showroom Delhi.
The bike comes with a 109.19 cc air cooled and 4 stroke engine. The bike provides a maximum 8.25 BHP power at 7,500 RPM.
"Livo is the curtain raiser of Honda's aggressive pace of new and exciting motorcycle models line up for India," said Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI.
The bike will be manufactured at Honda's Narsapura plant in Karnataka.
It will have features like chrome heat shield, Twister-inspired red suspension springs, alloy wheels, a small exhaust muffler and brake light.
"Livo is developed keeping in mind the very start of motorcycling - that is the 100-110cc displacement segment, which is often the first bike for most Indians. Honda's Livo is a perfect fit to fulfill the dreams of aspiring first time biker," said Y S Guleria, HMSI Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing.
HMSI' s market share in the 100-110cc segment stands at around six per cent. The company's market share in the overall bike segment stands at 14 percent, while it remains leader in the scooter segment with around 59 percent market share.
Honda is targeting the aspiring first time bike riders with this bike.
Talking about future plans, Muramatsu said that they will be launching 15 new products in India this year. Giving a hint to the future plans, he said, "The Honda CBR 650F bookings have opened from today and will be launched soon."(ANI)
