Chinese telecom gear maker Huawei has reportedly decided to abandon the United States market following strained relations with the U.S. government.
Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei said that the company does not want to stay in the middle of US-China relations, Cnet reports.
However, he has not specified any timeline for Huawei pulling out of the U.S. market.
The relationship between Huawei and the White House has been strained since the U.S. House Intelligence Committee issued a letter to Huawei stating concerns over its connections and ties to the Chinese military and government for attempting to breach their networks through its telecom intermediaries.
However, Huawei has repeatedly maintained that it is not involved in any sort of cyberspying.
Huawei also issued a statement in April that there would be no growth margin for the company in the U.S. market in 2013 following U.S. cautioning consumers when using or purchasing Huawei equipment.
