Hugh Hefner's former butler has claimed that he was fired by his employer for "an intrusion on his personal life", a previously unpublished interview has revealed.

In the interview conducted by Playboy's rival magazine 'Penthouse' in January 1985 the unidentified butler has claimed to reveal all about the life inside the Playboy mansion, the Independent revealed.

The former aide, who worked for the founder and chief creative officer of Playboy Enterprises, discussed the drug use at the Playboy Mansion and claimed that, although people openly smoked marijuana, their consumption of large amounts of cocaine was kept "behind closed doors".

He added that in his time on the Playboy's staff, he had "seen a lot, heard a lot and done a lot", and also discussed the celebrity visitors to the mansion, revealing that a large number of "has-beens with nothing to lose" visited the Playboy Mansion as the widely available food, drink and sex appealed to the celebrity "freeloaders".

Hefner's butler of four years gave explicit details of the alleged group sex activities of the editor-in-chief of 'Playboy' magazine and his guests, and claimed that a number of drug-related arrests occurred at the mansion in the mid-1970s.

The interview also revealed that the 87-year old American magazine publisher is "not that likeable of a person" and not many people enjoyed his company.

The complete interview is published in the September issue of VICE which is formed from the material taken from the archives of legendary magazine publisher Bob Guccione.
