The Hyderabad Police on Wednesday arrested an Army Major in connection with the death of his wife, who allegedly committed suicide in a dowry case.
Earlier, the wife of the officer was found hanging at their official quarters in Bolarum area.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North Zone, Hyderabad B Sumathi, the Major was posted under 54th Infantry Division and his wife was a radio jockey.
As per the initial information, it was speculated that the woman herself committed suicide and the case for the same was registered.
However, the family members of his wife alleged that the Major had been harassing her for dowry, after which a case under section 304 (B) and SC/ST Act was registered.
