IAF's unmanned aerial vehicle 'Lakshya' crashes in Odisha

Lakshya, the unmanned aerial vehicle of the Indian Air Force, crashed near the missile testing centre of Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha on Friday.

According to media reports, the unmanned aerial vehicle was being tested from ITR this morning and it crashed in an open ground near Chandamani village under Baliapal block of the state.

A Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) team has been sent to the spot to probe cause for the crash.

Balasore Superintendent of Police Niti Shekhar was quoted , as saying that there was no loss of life or property.

Lakshya is a pilotless target aircraft remotely operated from the ground to provide aerial targets for training and air defence.
