The Decision Review System (DRS) controversy that has marred the Ashes has forced cricket chiefs all over the world to fly to England for urgent talks with arch-rivals England and Australia ahead of the fourth Test in Durham.
According to the Mirror, ICC general manager of cricket Geoff Allardice will try to placate both sides, who are confused and frustrated by DRS after a string of controversial decisions during the current Ashes series, and will need to defend the match officials and the technology during the discussions.
However, the report also said that the global cricket governing body will probably not change the umpires appointed for the remaining two Ashes Tests, in Durham and London.
DRS is also on the agenda for the next ICC chief executive's meeting in September along with Hot Spot, after its inventor, Warren Brennan, admitted it struggles to pick up thin edges, the report added.
