IESM expelled from United Front for forwarding its own agenda, says Dinesh Nain

General Secretary of United Front of Ex-Servicemen, Col (Retd) Dinesh Nain on Thursday said that Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement (IESM) led by Major General (Retd) Satbir Singh has been expelled for taking their own agenda in front of the government.

"United Front of Ex-servicemen along with 35-38 organisations came into existence in which IESL of General Balbir Singh and IESM of Major General (Retd) Satbir Singh, both organisations were also part of it," Nain told ANI.

"However, the negotiations which were done and the message which was coming out, it is making it absolutely clear that the economical condition of a widow, jawan or JCO, is not going to change drastically because of One Rank, One Pension alone," he added.

"Balbir Singh declared yesterday in a meeting that they want to pull out of the United Front of Ex-Servicemen and support it from outside on point to point basis," he said.

"As far as Major General (Retd) Satbir Singh is concerned, their organisation was not cooperating at all and were taking their own agenda in front of government, therefore outcome was coming in an unacceptable manner. They were expelled yesterday from the United Front of Ex-servicemen," he further said.

Earlier, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had announced that the government has decided to implement the much awaited OROP scheme, stating that there would be a revision of pension every five years as against the two years demanded by the ex-servicemen.

He also said that the government would also setup a one-member judicial committee to work out details of implementation of the OROP.
