ECB director Andrew Strauss congratulated Wood on winning his first central contract and added that the award reflects his excellent performances for England this summer.

Meanwhile, Strauss said that Morgan's award reflects his status as captain of the limited overs teams and the importance they place on white-ball cricket ahead of their busy schedule of T20 and one-day international cricket over the next twelve months.
