Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, who called on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh here on Friday, said the relationship between New Delhi and Dhaka is a comprehensive one.

"We have cooperation in every possible sector and it has grown tremendously over the last four-and-a-half years. And there are still... pending issues that both countries are looking forward to resolving and we are working on it," she told Asian News International (ANI) here.

Dr. Moni, who also met Leader of Opposition in Rajya Arun Jaitley, further said that she got the commitment to the relationship between India and Bangladesh from both the leaders.

"What I got from the meeting from both the leaders is the commitment to the relationship between our two countries and I think that is very important. And the Prime Minister expressed his commitment again, reiterated it and the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha he also emphasized on this relationship," she said.

India today assured Bangladesh that nothing inimical to Dhaka's interests would be done.

The Prime Minister told the visiting Bangladesh Foreign Minister that India will ratify the land boundary agreement and take it to Parliament for its passage.

Dr Singh said his government is seeking national consensus on Teesta waters issue.

He, however, noted that water continues to flow into Bangladesh and data sharing is also taking place regularly.

The Bangladesh Foreign Minister said there has been enormous progress in bilateral relations since the Bangladesh Prime Minister visited India in January 2010 and Dr. Singh's Dhaka visit in September 2011.
