In the very next over, India was struck by another blow when star batsman Virat Kohli was run out by Morris.
The wickets kept falling at a regular intervals even as Suresh Raina tried to hold one end by scoring 22 off 24 balls.
Albie Morkel was the most successful South African bowler with brilliant figures of 3 wickets for 12 runs in four overs. Imran Tahir and Morris took two wickets each.
South Africa is leading the three match T20I series by 1-0.
