Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on the sidelines of the SAARC Summit here on Wednesday, conveyed New Delhi's commitment on strengthening relations with Kabul.
"India committed to strengthening relations with Afghanistan. PM @narendramodi to Prez @ashrafghani," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted.
India and Afghanistan have a strong relationship based on historical and cultural links.
The relationship is not limited to the governments in New Delhi and Kabul, and has been driven by the historical contacts and exchanges between the people.
