The Indian football team continued to paint a grim picture as they dropped a whopping 12 places to languish at the 167th position in the latest FIFA rankings, while World Cup finalists Argentina continue to maintain the top spot.
India slumped to their third successive loss in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as they suffered a 0-3 thrashing at the hands of mighty Iran in a group match last month. They will next face Turkmenistan and Oman in two away matches on October 8 and 13 respectively.
Meanwhile, reigning world champions Germany are second ahead of Belgium, while Spain moved back into the top 10 in sixth after two wins in the European championship qualifiers.
