Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal, who is leading a business delegation in London, on Friday said that India, with a renewed enthusiasm, is pursuing a clean energy agenda and building an entire ecosystem around power, so that it can become more robust.
"You cannot remove poverty unless you have electricity for all because electricity brings connectivity. It improves lives. Entire eco-system around power can become more robust, eco friendly," Goyal said, in a press briefing here.
He said the government is promoting solar and wind hybrid to optimise India's transmission infrastructure.
"Solar is turning out to be a success story. Wind energy has also come down drastically in terms of pricing. India, for the last three years, have focussed on creating an eco-system, where we are looking at bringing into India a framework which holds us in a good position for several years to come," Goyal added.
He said the government is creating a transparent investment opportunities for everyone on a larger scale.
"The mindset of the people has changed. The best way to predict the future is to create it and that is what we are trying to do. We are trying to live our dreams. We are trying to accomplish things we have never achieved before," Goyal said.
"India is now being recognised as the country moving out of the old age and moving into transparency, equal opportunity for investment for everybody," he added.
He also said that India is in a suitable position to leapfrog to the best available technology in the world.
