Delegation level talks between India and Tajikistan have begun in Dushanbe.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome in Tajikistan, where he arrived on the last leg of his Central Asian tour.
Later, he held restricted talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
The last prime ministerial visit to Tajikistan was by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in November 2003.
