The Ministry of External Affairs has announced that the Indian Government will provide a 60 million dollar Line of Credit (LoC) to Guyana for its road infrastructure projects.

Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin announced this at a media briefing in Gandhinagar on Thursday evening.

He said the LoC is being given by New Delhi to help Guyana overcome its transport problems.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given his approval for the LoC during the bilateral talks with Guyana President Donald R. Ramotar on the sidelines of the 13th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas.
