The Nepal Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, said that his visit to India was successful in clearing the mistrust between the two nations.

"Well. I am quite optimistic. I think this visit has been able to clear the air of mistrust and misunderstanding and it has also prepared the ground for further strengthening of bilateral ties," he told ANI

In the wake of shortage of essentials in Nepal, Thapa said the Indian government has assured smooth supply of necessities.

"We have requested them for the smooth flow of fuel and resume the supply line. The leaders and officers have assured us that India will not obstruct and will help to maintaining the smooth flow supply lines." he added.

While talking about the various protest by Madhesi and other ethnic groups, Thapa said that the Nepal government will soon bring the agitating parties on the table for talks.

"The government has already set up a dialogue team. PM Oli has written to the agitating political parties to come for dialogue. I think very soon we will start negotiation," he said.

Thapa, during his three day state visit to India, also met the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and discussed range of issues of mutual interest including the present border blockade.
