An Indian national is reportedly among a group of 20 tourists arrested by China on the suspicion of having links to terror outfits.

A post on Facebook by Gift of the Givers, a disaster relief organisation, said that a total of 20 tourists, including nine Britons, 10 South Africans and one Indian national, had been arrested at Ordos airport in the autonomous Chinese region of Inner Mongolia on Friday, reported The Guardian.

The tourists were on a planned 47-day tour of the country, the South African humanitarian organisation said.

While China has agreed to release 11 tourists, the rest will remain under custody without charge at a detention centre in the region.

The tourists' cellphones have been confiscated and no reasons have been given for their arrests. Gift of the Givers said that they were being held without charges, with no access to any communication nor to legal representation.

Those held currently include, five South Africans, three Britons and one Indian national.

The charity quoted Chinese authorities as saying that those caught were watching 'propaganda videos' in their hotel room.
