The Indian football team has undergone 'core stability exercises' on the first day of their training session in order to get acclimatize to the conditions here ahead of their clash against Guam for the 2018 World Cup qualification.
The side, which narrowly lost their first match of the second round of qualifiers to Oman 1-2 on Thursday, will lock horns with Guam on June 16.
Reflecting on the training session, the-aiff quoted team coach Stephen Constantine as saying that the body needed to adapt to the different surroundings and, therefore, they went straight to the beach the moment they checked in and underwent some core stability exercises; running and lots of stretching.
The team spent an exhaustive 16 hours in the air and landed in Guam after some 27 hours.
Constantine further said that the trip was long and tiring, insisting that the training was held in order to help the players recover from the jet lag and adjust to the time zone.
Constantine added that they didn't want the players to go to sleep immediately and wanted all to get a good sleep in the timeframe where they are.
