The two-day event was organized by the Sahitya Thoupang Lup in association with Department of Art and Culture; Manipur State Kala Academy; Manipur Jagoi Marup; Sahitya Seve Samiti; Macha Chanu; Liberty Theatre and Library and Information Centre.
The president of Macha Chanu, a literary society of Kakching, N. Pramodini Devi, described it as a proud moment for them to see such an international event organized in Manipur.
"We feel very proud to share such Indo Bangla poets meet at international level. We are very happy that in all our times we couldn't meet and interact with such persons coming from foreign countries but today we are very happy that we could interact with such persons that come from Bangladesh," said Devi.
The first day of the meet saw various Bangladeshi and Indian poets address an enraptured audience at the Auditorium of Library and Information Centre at Kakching village.
A writer of Kakching, Kunjo Naorem, said that such events would help in fostering peace between the two countries.
"This program is very interesting and it is first time in Kackching and such type of programs will benefit to bring peace around countries and I would like to appeal to the organizers to organize such type of programs in the future also," said Naorem.
All together seven Bangladeshi poets apart from their Indian counterparts addressed the audience during the conference.
The Bangladeshi poets were Rabil Hussan, Dr Mustafa Majid, Md Enayet Ali, AK Sheram, Sanaton Hamom, Khoiron Indrajit and Maisnam Rajesh
The Bangladeshi delegates also visited the Kakching garden prior to the function and acclimatized themselves with local scenery.
