The Foreign Secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan are likely to take place on January 15 in Pakistan.

However, the official confirmation from the External Affairs Ministry is still awaited.

Earlier, Pakistan has proposed for the talks to be held in middle of January next year.

As per the sources, Pakistan had asked for Islamabad as the venue for the talks.

The national security advisers of Pakistan and India met for a brief and unannounced meeting in Bangkok, which was followed up by an informal and short meeting between the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India.
