Sri Lankan paceman Dhammika Prasad has been ruled out of the first Test of the three-match series against England due to a shoulder injury.
The 32-year-old suffered the injury during the side's first tour match against Essex last week at Chelmsford.
With the omission, Prasad has also missed a chance to repeat his Headingley heroics of 2014 campaign, when he bagged five wickets while giving away 50 runs to hand his side with their first Test series win in England.
Reflecting on the injury, Sri Lankan coach Graham Ford said they are hoping to see the bowler fit again ahead of the second Test, Sport24 reported.
Lanka will play their first Test against England from Thursday at Headingley Carnegie in Leeds.
