Condemning the ink attack on the chairman of the Mumbai unit of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), Sudheendra Kulkarni, senior lawyer K T S Tulsi on Monday said that it was an act of extreme intolerance of anyone's views, and asked the government to take notice before situation goes out of hand.
"This is an act of extreme intolerance of anyone's views. This is a free country and it is vitiating the entire atmosphere. I strongly feel that the government should sit up and notice before situation goes out of hand," Tulsi told ANI.
Kulkarni was attacked by the Shiv Sena, hours before the launch of a book of former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri in Mumbai.
Following the attack, Kulkarni said he had no intention of scrapping the book launch.
"The event is going to take place at 5.30 p.m. at the Nehru Centre in Mumbai, despite the threats we've received from the Shiv Sena," Kulkarni told the media.
The Shiv Sena has described the launch of Kasuri's book as an insult to martyred Indian soldiers, and warned of severe repercussions if the event is not cancelled.
