Interim PCB chief Sethi says Pak ready to go 'across border' to revive cricket ties with India

Interim Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi has said that the team is ready to go across the border to revive playing ties with arch-rivals India.

India stalled all bilateral ties with Pakistan in the wake of the 2008 terrorist attacks on Mumbai, although Pakistan toured India for a short limited overs series at the turn of 2013 (December-January).

According to Sport24, although India has a busy cricket schedule being the financial hub and one of the most sought-after teams and would not be able to play a long series with Pakistan, however, Sethi said Pakistan is more than willing to tour India if India does not want to visit their neighbours.

Sethi further said that India owes them two home series as per the Future Tours Programme, adding that India-Pakistan series is the most sought after as millions of people are waiting for it.

Hoping that things would shape up after general elections in India in May next year, Sethi also said that he thinks the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is waiting for elections in India, adding that if Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tours Pakistan, then the matter of cricket will also be raised.

India last toured Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup and their last bilateral visit to Pakistan was in 2006, the report added.
