French authorities have reportedly said that the condition of the second black box of the ill-fated Germanwings plane, retrieved on the ninth day of the search operation, has given "hope" that the data on it could be used.
Prosecutor Brice Robin asserted that the box, found buried on the left side of a ravine, was "completely blackened" and appeared to be burnt, but was "possibly usable," News24 reported.
Based on evidence, investigators had said that the co-pilot pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed the Germanwings plane, which was travelling from Barcelona to Duesseldorf, by taking control of the flight while the pilot was locked out of the cockpit. All the 150 people onboard were killed.
