A 1983 batch Indian Police Services (IPS) officer, O.P. Singh, will assume office as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh tomorrow.
He is relieved from his post of Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (DGCISF) today following an approval by the Department of Personnel and Training, to Uttar Pradesh government's proposal.
His name for the next DGP post was announced on December 31 by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Initially the issue was turning into an embarrassment for the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister because of the delay made by Centre in the matter.
