As Iran and six western nations chalked out an outline agreement on the future of Iran's nuclear programme following days of negotiation, Israel has voiced its concern over the newly-struck deal by branding it a "historic mistake."
An Israeli official warned that if an agreement was reached on the basis of this framework, then the resultant nuclear deal would be a "historic mistake" which will make the world far more dangerous, reported News.com.au.
An Israeli spokesman, on the other hand, was quoted as saying that the agreement was "detached from wretched reality."
Israel said that the framework gave international legitimacy to Iran's nuclear program, which was aimed at producing a nuclear bomb.
The nuclear talks had already strained ties between U.S. and Israel, which sees Tehran as an existential threat.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Barack Obama assured Israel that the deal will not weaken America's support for it.
Obama has invested significant political capital in the nuclear negotiations.
