The head of the Islamic State (IS) Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has survived the recent U.S. led coalition airstrikes that prompted rumours about his death, said two U.S. officials.

Days after reports of the leader being dead or injured were circulated, a video was released by IS wherein Baghdadi said that they would not stop the battle even if one fighter remained.

According to Fox News, Baghdadi's first comments came after the U.S. led coalition airstrikes, in the recently released audio.

Reports say that Baghdadi survived as per the audio records.

Baghdadi's voice also seemed to correspond with earlier recordings.
