Israel has accepted Egypt's proposal to broker a truce with the Gaza strip.
Hamas, the group that controls the Gaza strip, is still in discussion about the Egyptian offer but the armed wing of Hamas has reportedly rejected it, reports the BBC.
Under the proposal terms, the ceasefire would begin immediately and high-level delegations from both the sides would visit Cairo for a series of meetings.
Palestinians officials said that 192 people had been killed so far in the Israeli airstrikes launched last week.
According to reports, Israeli airstrikes have now been stopped into the Gaza strip but 20 rockets were fired from the Gaza strip into Israel since they had stopped.
