Hi-tech innovative brand itel announced the successful sale of more than one million handsets within India. itel mobiles forayed into the Indian market with a variety of reliable and trendy communication devices, which include feature phones priced at less than Rs. 2,000 and value-added smartphones available for less than Rs. 10,000.
Currently operating in 11 states in North India including Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, the brand has gained a significant foothold.
"itel was launched in India to eliminate the technological disparity that exists between the urban and the rural geographies. The impressive response that we have received within such a short duration since our launch underlines the efficacy of our brand's value-plus approach in the Indian market," said CEO itel Mobile India, Sudhir Kumar.
"We would like to thank our partners and consumers who made this feat possible for us. We are confident of devising and launching even more innovative offerings that will empower the Indian consumer and give India the boost it needs to evolve into a completely digital economy," added Sudhir Kumar.
The company has tied-up with 325 distributors in the country and the number of itel retailers stands at around 25000. The brand aims to take the number of distributors to 1,000 and retailers to 80,000 by the end of this year in order to provide a larger consumer base ready access to its value-driven offerings.
With a view to enhance the ownership experience, itel Mobile will also open 1,000 service centers across the country by the end of 2016. Consumers currently enjoy a 100-day replacement warranty offering on all itel products, a unique facility in the mobile handset space in India.
