Inmates of the central jail of Vijayapura were in for a treat when an 'item dance' was arranged for them during this year's Republic Day celebrations on Tuesday.
Prison authorities arranged two dance girls from Mumbai purportedly to reward the prisoners for their good behaviour.
While some swayed to the tunes of music, others were seen throwing cash at the dancers to appreciate their moves.
The entertainment programme was held before the formal function in which district in-charge Minister M.B. Patil and deputy commissioner participated.
The formal Republic Day programme was held at 3 pm on Tuesday during which 38 inmates were released.
