Two terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in Tikken area of Pulwama district on Saturday.
The bodies of the slain terrorists and incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of the encounter.
Based on credible input regarding the presence of terrorists in the area, security forces launched a cordon and search operation earlier in the day. During the operation, the hiding terrorists fired on the search party, leading to the encounter.
The identities of the terrorists are yet to be ascertained. The police have requested people to cooperate till the area is completely sanitised and cleared of all the explosives materials, if any.
