The Jammu and Kashmir police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Saturday busted a module of Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) of Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit and arrested one person in this regard in Sopore area of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.

"With the arrest of one militant Irshad Ahmad Shah, resident of Seelu, Sopore in Baramulla, we have been able to bust a huge network that was spearheading militant activities and recruitment of local boys in Baramulla and Sopore," said Deputy inspector general of police (DIG) North Kashmir, Nitish Kumar.

The person who has been arrested by the police was involved in murder case.

The police said that the accused along with two other absconders was involved in killing of a local resident Eid-ul-Amin Mir and that the conspiracy to target him was hatched at the house of one of the nine arrested OGWs namely Azhar Imtiyaz of Sopore's Behrampora area.

The militant Irshad Shah has been active with Hizbul-Mujahideen militant outfit for last more than two years.

In a series of raids, Sopore police and security forces have also arrested nine people for aiding and abetting militancy in the area by luring young boys into militancy and take up the gun.
