J.K. Rowling has received "substantial damages" pertaining to her court case against a UK publication.

The 48-year-old British novelist has won the case against The Daily Mail for a story published claiming that she had lied about her upbringing in an effort to win people over with her "sob story", E! Online reported.

The publication had admitted liability in January, and also agreed to publish an apology in addition to awarding damages to the Harry Potter author.
