Martial arts legend Jackie Chan will receive the honorary Oscars from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the organization's Governors Awards.
Along with working in over 100 movies, the 62-year-old legendary star is also a renowned documentarian, a film editor, director, script writer and most interestingly he has also lent his voice to the animated 'Kung Fu Panda' movies, reports Entertainment Tonight.
Chan has joined the list of awardees alongside fellow honourees film editor Anne Coates, casting director Lynn Stalmaster and documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman.
Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the President of Academy awards, in a statement said: "The Honorary Award was created for artists like Jackie Chan, Anne Coates, Lynn Stalmaster and Frederick Wiseman -- true pioneers and legends in their crafts. The Board is proud to honor their extraordinary achievements, and we look forward to celebrating with them at the Governors Awards in November."
The 'Rush Hour' star made his motion picture debut at the age of eight and forayed into Hollywood films with 1996 released 'Rumble in the Bronx'.
