Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jagdish Mukhi on Friday criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for assuming him to be his party's chief ministerial candidate for the Delhi Assembly elections.

"Have I ever said I am in CM's race? A party, which was born yesterday, will decide this," said Mukhi while taking a jibe at the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.

Lauding the Union Cabinet's decision to approve the dissolution of Delhi Assembly, AAP leader Manish Sisodia had earlier on Wednesday said it is for the people of Delhi to decide whether they will choose an honest leader like Arvind Kejriwal or a leader like BJP's Jagdish Mukhi.

With the Union Cabinet recommending the dissolution of the Delhi Assembly and setting the stage for fresh elections in the days to come, political parties have begun finalizing their poll campaign strategy to grab power here.

The BJP, which was single largest party in the last polls here, is pinning its hope on Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will be their star campaigner in the forthcoming polls.

President's rule was imposed in Delhi since February after the Kejriwal-led AAP government stepped down after remaining in power for 49 days.
