The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday filed a 2000-page documentary evidence in the Delhi High Court in reply to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's civil defamation case against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other party leaders.

"Today the honorable CM and myself filed our written statement along with approximately 2000 pages of documentary evidence and three CDs in the suit filed by Mr. Arun Jaitley. In the course of next few weeks, we would be filing more evidence in the honorable court," AAP leader Raghav Chadha told the media.

"I have been informed by my lawyer that the trial will be governed by the court for the civil procedure which gives us ample opportunities among various provisions to expose the truth," he added.

Chadha further said that his party would continue the fight against corruption, adding that all efforts would be made to ensure that the truth in this matter comes to the fore.

Jaitley had filed a criminal defamation complaint against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders on December 21 last year for allegedly defaming him in the Delhi and District Cricket Board (DDCA) controversy before a Delhi court which took cognizance on his plea.

"All these allegations are baseless and devoid of truth. For a total sum Rs. 114 crore, we made a stadium with a capacity of taking 42,000 people. Contrary to that, the Congress built the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium spending Rs. 900 crores. No one raised doubts on that expenditure," Jaitley had said in the Lok Sabha.

Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had declared that the probe committee formed by the Delhi Government to look into the affairs of the DDCA was 'unconditional and illegal'.
